You're really starting to get the mechanics down and now you're looking for the right tone or timbre.
Time to move up from that cheap plastic mouthpiece?
Hard to go wrong with an Otto Link hard rubber mouthpiece.

A 6* is a good choice of tip opening to start.
.080 is an excellent, open tip for a production tenor mouthpiece.

The Tone Edge has an open, round chamber which lets you attain a dark, rich sound.

This is a new mouthpiece. Anything that looks like a flaw is more probably dust or glare that crept in during the photography.
The 5* looks almost identical.
