The Frank Holton Company of Elkhorn, Wisconsin is one of the earliest American saxophone makers. Some folks get a little confused in regards of Elkhorn, WI vs. Elkhart, IN. Elkhorn is a small town in S.E. Wisconsin, not far from Lake Geneva, if that means anything to you. There has been a small but persistent hotbed of brass musical instrument fabrication there for decades. Aside from Holton, there is Getzen, Allied Repair and Badger State Repair. Badger State is where I got my training. A big tip of the hat to Fast Eddie, Bill, George, Paul, Jon, Dawn, Shirley and what's-his-name?...Oh, yeah, Wayne.
