"MONTE" Alto Sax

It looks like the "MONTE" name engraved on the bell was an afterthought. You can see in THIS PICTURE that the rectangular area of lacquer surround "MONTE" does not match the rest of the sax. Also, the style of engraving of the word "MONTE" is rather crude in comparison to the lovely floral engraving elsewhere on the bell.

Below "MONTE" it says "PARIS FRANCE", but I am not sure that I want to jump to the conclusion that it is made in France.

The serial number is engraved vertically on the sax. The serial number also appears on the neck tenon.

If I had to guess, I would guess this sax was made by Malerne.
