Jumbo Java T95
Tenor Sax Mouthpiece

Below are some quick snapshots I took of the Jumbo Java tenor mpc I just got in. I didn't want to take the time to set up the tripod, etc.

In general, the Vandoren mouthpiece are very high quality...the material, the design, the finish work.
This tenor Jumbo Java has a high step baffle. Normally you'd expect the high notes to sound shrill with something that looks like this, but somehow this design works. Nice even response, great projection and it doesn't louse up your intonation.
Immediately after the baffle, the interior sidewalls go concave...I think that may be the key.

The T95 has a 2.95 mm (0.116 inch) tip opening, which is a substantial, open tip. But the high baffle makes it play like a smaller tip opening. It has a long facing. It works well with as soft as a 2.0 reed...up to 3.0...it kinda depends on you.

You can buy these for $125 at www.WWBW.com or as cheap as $109 at 1StopClarinet.
They do a much higher volume than I do and consequently they get them cheaper.
What's a guy going to do?
Its just that it is nice enough of a mouthpiece that I wanted one here at the shop available for my clients.
