This horn was manufactured in 1923...85 years ago...that's back when:
- King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band with Louis Armstrong on second cornet makes their first recordings.
- Jelly Roll Morton moves to Chicago.
- Tenor saxophonist Coleman Hawkins joins the Fletcher Henderson band.
- Dexter Gordon was born.

I keep asking myself...how did this horn make it through the years in such great shape?

The Conn 'straight' neck C-Melody is considered by many to be the best in regards to intonation and comfort.

This sax comes with four top-notch mouthpieces for the C-Melody.
- A modified Meyer 5M Tenor Mpce. with the shank shortened and a ring put on it
- A vintage "Woodwind" (Made in France) Steelite Ebonite C-Melody Mpce.
- Runyon "C-Melody" 5 with spoiler
- And, my favorite, a Metal ARB 5, with a big baffle and again with the shank shortened and with a customized Rovner lig.
All 4 mouthpieces come with ligs and caps. Also there is a mouthpiece holder rigged up in the case to hold these mouthpieces.
Just click on the links above to get photos and more info on these mouthpieces.

This gives you a 'turn-key' C-Melody kit. You can put on the French "Woodwind" mouthpiece and play a lullaby mellow enough to put your baby to bed. Or....you can put on the ARB, kick in the afterburners and you can solo at a gig with the big boys.
The perfect instrument for a guitarist, pianist, et al... looking to branch out to a woodwind, but not wanting to tackle transposition into different keys.
Or for you sax-players looking to add another "voice" to your arsenal, I want to see what you think about this C-Mel with the ARB mouthpiece. It sure don't sound like no mild-mannered parlor instrument, no ma'am.

Silver-plate in excellent condition.
No scratches or dents.
Excellent pads.
The case is in great shape. It has a unique, custom-made holder for the 4 accompanying mouthpieces.
Comes with original silver-plated neck plug.
Plays great.
Ummm...was there anything else?
